Yesterday morning I got the kids and Toby out the door to school and my youngest was still sleeping. The weather was so warm and the morning sky so bright that I grabbed my coffee and went to the back porch (still in my robe) to just sit quietly in my favorite spot. It’s an Adirondack chair that faces the shade garden and the higher trees of the backyard.
Perhaps you also have a “spot” like that. A place where you automatically slow down. A place where the air around it is somehow fresher. Where you can breathe easier, where you can think more clearly. Even your coffee tastes better and your spirit is renewed.
I love my spot and I am going to miss it. That will be one of the first things I will be looking for in our new place. That seat, that view, that feeling that I’m a little closer to home.
